On June 1, 1998 the new $72 million dollar terminal opened at the Albany International Airport. Albany has one of the worlds largest shopping centers "Crossgates Mall" with over 200 stores and restaurants located 10 minutes from the airport. Also in the summer months people from around the world attend the Saratoga Horse Raceway which is located 25 minutes from the airport. All major car rentals and hotels are within minutes from the airport or located on the premises.
