About the station

Trans States operates as US Airways Express, Northwest Airlink and the Alaska Airlines Commuter Service at the Monterey Peninsula Airport, providing easy and convenient connections to and from these airlines. We are the only multiple code share airline in the airport, but what makes us really stand out (aside from the tediously long boarding and arrival announcements) is the extraordinary people who work at the station. We are a diverse, eclectic and multi-lingual group, with fluency in the Spanish, French, German, Russian, Italian, Turkish, Tagalong, Japanese, Hindi and Gujarati languages. We are always willing to assist any of our passengers and will go that extra mile with a smile. As competent multi-task Agents, you will see us at the ticket counter to check you and your bags in, plane side loading and unloading your luggage, as well as at the security checkpoint ensuring the security of your flight. We look forward to welcoming you onboard one of our flights in the very near future!

About the area

The Monterey/Carmel coast is considered one of the most beautiful areas in California, where you can always hear the call of the sea lions as you shop, dine and walk on the picturesque beaches and piers. Carmel and Pebble Beach are home to many Hollywood stars, as well as world-renowned golf courses and resorts. There are many colleges and schools in the area, including the internationally acclaimed graduate school Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS), the newest addition to the California University's system C.S.U. Monterey Bay (CSUMB), and the military's prestigious Defense Language Institute (DLI). You can shop, dine and stroll down historic Cannery Row, the site of the booming sardine canneries of the 1920's, or in the quaint little town of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Other historic and educational sites to visit are the beautiful Carmel Mission and the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. There are a number of outdoor activities available year round, including horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, surfing, golfing, skydiving and sailing. Annual events in the area include the AT&T Pro-Am golf tournament, Formula 1 and super-bike racing at Laguna Seca Race Course, the Monterey Jazz Festival and the Concourse de' Elegance classic car show.
